First, pull your dryer away from the wall so you have room to work behind it.
Use a screwdriver to loosen the hose clamp holding the vent hose. Remove the hose and inspect it for lint accumulations. Lint can collect at the exit hole of the dryer, the mouth of the hose, or even farther down inside the hose, where it may have been kinked during installation.
Unscrew the hose from the wall vent, take the hose outside, and shake it out.
If the problem doesn’t seem to be fixed, the lint blockage may be on the outside. Find where the exterior vent is located and pull out any blockages you find. Also see Clothes Dryer Troubleshooting & Repairs.
