Peeling Paint

Peeling paint usually indicates that the paint did not adhere to the surface during painting. This happens when paint is applied to damp wood, loose or flaking paint, or a dirty or greasy surface.

Peeling paint usually calls for repainting. To avoid peeling paint in the future, thoroughly wash the siding surface and be sure to completely scrape loose paint from it. Sand and fill nicks and gouges if necessary, prime before repainting, and paint only in dry weather.
