If air is leaking around the perimeter of a door, simply replace the weather stripping (if there is any).
Compression weather stripping is the most common type; steel doors may utilize a magnetic weather strip along the top and down the knob side. It's easiest to remove the door before replacing weather stripping, so plan to do this on a warm day.
Also, buy your replacement material before you remove the door.
1) Use a hammer and a small pin punch or a nail to tap out the hinge pins.
2) Grip the knob. Slightly open the door, and lift it off the hinges.
3) Pull off the old weather stripping. If it's the type that fits into a groove in the jamb, don't attempt to pull the brads that hold it in place. Instead, shear them off or drive them into the groove with an old chisel.
4) Cut the replacement weather stripping to length, push it into the groove in the jamb, and refasten it with new 1-inch brads.
