If a vinyl door sweep on the bottom edge of your exterior door is broken and providing an inadequate seal, remove the door.
Pry off (or, on a steel door, slide out) the old sweep, and take it to your home improvement center to buy a replacement.
If an exact replacement isn't available, buy the type with a U-shaped profile that screws onto the door bottom.
Run a bead of caulk along the bottom edge of the door, tap the sweep into place with a hammer and small wood block (or a mallet), and fasten the new replacement sweep in place with 1/2-inch staples or fasteners provided with the sweep.
