How to Fix an Icemaker That Doesn’t Turn Off

By +Don Vandervort, HomeTips

If your icemaker keeps making ice, even when it is full:

1) Lift the bail wire to shut it off.

2) Empty the bin, remove the icemaker, clean it, and then reinstall it.

3) If the problem persists, consider having an appliance repairperson remove and replace the entire icemaker and valve. With this type of problem, you can pay for the repair, but it’s often wiser and less expensive in the long run to replace the unit entirely.
