Even a small bend or dent in an aluminum sliding window track will prevent the window from operating freely.
Check the track with a straightedge such as a metal yardstick. Where the track bends, tap a wood block gently with a hammer. But don’t just tap in one spot—work the block along the track until the entire track is straight again. If the track is so badly bent that you can’t straighten it, you may have to replace the track.
